Welcome/Naming Ceremonies
Marking the arrival of a baby and welcoming a new human being into the world is an amazing and important rite of passage. And a religious service or traditional christening is not the only way to do it!
As a non-religious Celebrant, Julia will work with you to design a unique and meaningful welcome or naming ceremony to celebrate such a happy and significant event in your lives.
The content and structure of the ceremony will focus on your child, and will be planned to suit your own style and personalities; you will be able to choose when, where and how you want it to be. You may wish to have a ceremony outside that includes planting a tree, or a party with live music….each ceremony is unique and will be memorable and personalized: there is no ‘right time’ or ‘right way’ to do it!
Julia will lead the ceremony, but others (parents and appointed Guideparents) may also wish to read a poem or promises to the child.
A welcome or naming ceremony is a wonderful way to publicly acknowledge and respect the responsibilities of parenthood, and to celebrate a new life; one that has so much potential and is so much loved.
